Breeding with Purpose: Our Commitment to Producing the Ultimate English Cream Golden Retriever
At Creek’s Edge Goldens, our breeding program is built on an unwavering commitment to the health, temperament, and structure of every puppy we produce. Each pairing is thoughtfully planned to preserve the Golden’s defining qualities — gentle disposition, eager intelligence, natural versatility, and the beautiful English Cream type — resulting in dogs who offer the ideal balance of beauty, soundness, and heart. Our Golden Retrievers excel as devoted family companions, promising therapy and service partners, and well-rounded dogs who thrive in a wide variety of homes and activities.
We are deeply passionate about the English Cream Golden Retriever and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of health, care, and responsible breeding that this wonderful breed deserves. We strive to provide every family with a puppy that embodies these qualities while also fostering a strong, lifelong partnership. Our commitment continues well beyond placement — we provide every family with guidance, resources, and ongoing support to help ensure their Golden thrives at each stage of life.

Health Testing & Genetic Screening
The health and well-being of our English Cream Golden Retrievers are our highest priorities. We follow comprehensive health screening protocols for all of our breeding dogs to help ensure they are free from known hereditary conditions — giving every puppy the strongest possible foundation for a long, healthy life.
Hip & Elbow Evaluations: All Creek’s Edge Goldens breeding dogs receive OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or equivalent hip and elbow clearances. These evaluations help ensure proper joint structure and promote lifelong mobility — essential for an active and athletic breed like the Golden Retriever.
PRA, Ichthyosis & Golden-Specific Genetic Testing: Because certain hereditary conditions are known to affect Golden Retrievers — including Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and Ichthyosis — our dogs are DNA-tested through reputable laboratories. This ensures we never produce puppies at risk of inheriting disabling or painful genetic disorders.
Cardiac Screening: Whether through OFA-certified examinations or advanced studies by a veterinary cardiologist, each breeding dog is evaluated to confirm strong heart health. Golden Retrievers are predisposed to certain cardiac issues, so proactive testing is essential for long-term well-being.
Eye Examinations (CAER): Our dogs also undergo annual CAER exams performed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist to ensure clear eyes and healthy vision throughout life — an important safeguard as Golden Retrievers can be prone to inherited eye conditions.
By maintaining these rigorous health testing standards, Creek’s Edge Goldens is dedicated to producing puppies who are well-structured, confident, and ready to fill their families’ lives with grace, joy, and unwavering companionship for many years to come.
Nutrition and Early Development
We believe that proper nutrition is the cornerstone of lifelong health and vitality for both our adult Labradors and their puppies. Our adult English Labrador Retrievers and expectant mothers are fed a high-quality, balanced diet formulated to support the needs of a healthy, active breed with moderate energy levels and classic English structure.
From the very beginning, our puppies are nourished with premium puppy food, and their growth is closely monitored to ensure they receive the right balance of nutrients for strong bones, healthy joints, and steady, controlled development. Working closely with our veterinarians, we provide optimal nutrition at every stage of life, giving Creek’s Edge Labrador puppies the strongest possible start toward becoming healthy, confident, and well-rounded companions.
In addition to superior nutrition, we prioritize early neurological stimulation to support cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Following a program inspired by Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) or “Bio-Sensor” principles, our puppies receive gentle handling and structured early exercises that promote confidence, adaptability, and resilience. This thoughtful foundation helps produce stable, well-balanced English Labradors ready to thrive as devoted family companions, therapy or service partners, and confident dogs in any environment.
